Our special needs orphans

Some of our orphans have serious medical problems and need extra love and care. These are wonderful animals who deserve a lot better in life than they have received so far. We are convinced that many of our special needs pets can be fully rehabilitated if they receive the proper care. It costs a lot of money to bring a seriously ill or injured animal back to good health however, and we need your help. Please help us give some very deserving dogs and cats a second chance. If you'd like to contribute to the medical care of one of our special needs orphans or are interested in sponsoring one of these animals, please call us at 214-349-ELPO (3576) or send an e-mail.

Current special needs

Sunday This feisty little feline was found on, you guessed it, a Sunday!  But whoever thought that Sunday could be a day of rest hasn’t met this little bundle of kitty energy.  She’s always on the go and looking for ways to get into trouble!  She has a chronic eye condition (feline herpesviral infection) that is not contagious to humans or dogs, but is able to spread to other kitties—she may do best as a single kitty or in a household with other kitties that already have this virus.  Treatment typically involves an antiviral supplement given twice daily in her food, and eye medications as needed
