Our
Shining Stars!
November is Adopt-a-Senior month!
hile having a young, adorable puppy can be tons of fun, giving a second
chance to a senior companion can be just as wonderful! Senior
pets are already trained and usually do not chew on shoes or furniture.
And what you see is what you get--older animals are already full grown
so there's no risk of a surprise when that cute little 10 pound puppy
develops into a 70 pound "lap dog", and the personality
that you see is one that has developed over time so there are fewer
risks in that department as well.

Young,
energetic animals can demand a lot of your time while older animals
are generally calmer and quieter. Older animals also seem to understand
that they have been given another chance at a happy life and are grateful
for the opportunity to love someone and to be loved in return.
Join East Lake Pet Orphanage in celebrating the wonderful senior pets
in shelters everywhere, by adopting a senior pet as part of your permanent
family! All senior companions are our Shining Stars this month,
and are available at a half-off donation (dogs $82.50, normally $165;
cats $67.50, normally $135) all through the month of November 2008.
