Neko
(Japanese word for “cat”) has had quite a journey!
Found as a stray, she was taken in by a Good Samaritan who wanted
to help her find a home. She did all the right things—love,
food, shelter, and taking her in to get her taken care of medically
with vaccinations and spaying so that she wouldn’t add more
homeless kittens to the world. But soon after her spay, Neko
became ill and her Good Samaritan knew that she had done all that
she could for her and brought her to East Lake Pet Orphanage for the
next step of her journey! Even when she wasn’t feeling
well, Neko proved herself to be unbelievably sweet—you have
to meet her in person to see just how amazing the personality is for
this petite little charmer! She’s never met a stranger,
and will do well in almost any type of household. She has a
mild heart murmur that comes and goes, and is not felt to need any
type of medication—monitoring on a regular basis by a veterinarian
(six months from now, and if all is well at that time then typical
annual examinations should be all she needs) should keep her in tip-top
shape for many years to come!
